Code of Professional Conduct and Practice
Patient Charter
Chiropractors practising in Queensland must hold current registration with the Chiropractors Board of Queensland. If your chiropractor is a member of the Chiropractors' Association of Australia, which is the largest professional Association for chiropractors in Australia, they must also agree to abide by the Association's Code of Professional Practice and Conduct.
As a patient of an Association member, you have a right to expect that:
1. You will be cared for with respect.
2. You will receive a clear explanation of the service you will receive.
3. Your chiropractor will obtain your informed consent prior to your treatment commencing and as it progresses.
4. Your rights to patient confidentiality will be both respected and upheld.
5. You will receive competent and professional service.
7. You will receive a clear statement about fees prior to the treatment being provided.
8. You will be clear about the outcome that you and the chiropractor are working towards.
9. You will receive an estimate of the time required to achieve the outcome.
As mentioned above, chiropractors practising in Queensland must hold current registration with the Chiropractors Board of Queensland which is established by an Act of Parliament, the Chiropractors Registration Act 2001. The Chiropractors Board of Queensland has a publically available Register that you can access via the internet to ensure that your chiropractor is registered.
