About Us
The Chiropractors' Association of Australia (QLD Branch) Ltd [CAAQ], is a State branch of the Chiropractors’ Association of Australia (National) [CAAN]. The CAAQ represents chiropractors who are registered to practice in Queensland and who elect to be an Association member.
The Chiropractors' Association of Australia is the single largest body representing chiropractors in this country. It was formed in 1990 by the amalgamation of its two preceding National organisations which were themselves formed in 1938 and 1961 respectively.
The CAAN is responsible for matters dealing with education, publications, conventions, international relations and dealings with the Federal Government.
The CAAQ undertakes activities pertaining to:
• membership issues within Queensland;
• provision of seminars and forums;
• ethics and standards [conduct]; and
• representation to State Government authorities.
Chiropractors who are members of the CAAQ are bound by a Code of Professional Conduct and Practice. A copy of this document can be downloaded from our Publications section. Where matters of conduct of a member are questioned, the public has recourse by providing the CAAQ with a written complaint. Any member subject to a complaint will be required to enter into a peer review process. More information regarding complaints can be downloaded from our Publications section. All complaints are considered seriously and handled expediently.
CAAQ members are entitled and encouraged to use the Association's logos. When looking for a chiropractor, always look for these symbols and have confidence that you're in safe hands.
